When I buy strong drink, to rejoice before the LORD (Deuteronomy 14) I usually opt for the vodka martini, or vodkatini for all you martini purists. But last weeked, to find out what I'm missing, I ordered a straight up classic martini, Tanqueray being the gin of choice.
It was like drinking a tree. How the hell do people enjoy drinking gin? Ugh.
Gimme Tito's Texas Vodka from here on out. Sorry if that makes me a Philistine.

I used to have a regular when I tended bar who ordered Tanqueray and milk. I had the toughest time mixing that without ralphing all over the bar. You're right that it tastes like a tree, gin is made with Juniper berries.
That's why I don't understand the whole "gin & juice" thing. Then it just tastes like a fruit tree.
