"Now a certain young man followed Him, having a linen cloth thrown around his naked body. And the young men laid hold of him, and he left the linen cloth and fled from them naked. Mark 14:51-52
This scene occurs during Jesus' arrest at Gethsemane. Many commentators believe Mark included it in his Gospel because he is the young man. I believe that, but I'm also about half-convinced that Mark is also the "rich young ruler" who Jesus told to go, sell all that he had, and follow Him. I think he did. Why? Well, linen was very expensive back then. Only a wealthy person would have linen underwear. It seems like, in his zeal, Mark may have sold literally everything and followed Jesus around in his underwear. It could also be that he was just sleeping in the garden and had taken off his tunic. There's no way to know, of course, but it seems feasible to me.
