Two Christian summer camps, of fairly equal size. Both feature a large light show and PA, a band, drama team and speaker. Both have drawn young people from typical Bible Belt Evangelical Churches.
One challenged students to step up out of the rut of religiosity. At the time it seemed ill-received and yet God moved in a mighty way.
The other had students running through the routine of weepy altar calls and emotionalism with hardly any genuine worship appearing to happen at all.
What was the difference? Orientation. The big show, in and of itself, contains no inherent good or evil. But all involved must be contributing their work unto God, or else they cannot expect Him to give His blessing to the endeavor. He will not share His glory with another--no lightshow, band, drama team or speaker.
And when one offers for sale a T-shirt describing the Lord Jesus as "flippin' sweet," one ought not be surprised if He chooses to stay away.

Yeah, if they had said he was "effin' metal" though, He would have shaken the foundations of that place!!!! ;)
